AESC Recreational Activities
60th Annual Meeting - 2017


We have several fun "Southern California" activities planned for you and your family during the AESC's 60th Annual Meeting at the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel.  Additional registration for these events is necessary since there are extra costs associated with them.

Monday, July 31st

Spouse Activities
9:30 - 11:00 a.m.

Get a healthy start to your AESC week by joining fellow spouses for some yoga on the beach and an "eco-nature" walk.  There's no additional charge for this event.  Gather immediately after the Family Breakfast
Younger Kids Outing
(age 5 - 11)
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Discovery and Games on the Beach
Supervised activities for the younger kids.  Meet at the Family Breakfast.
$30 per child
Older Kids Outing
(age 12 and up)
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Surfing Lesson or Paddle Boarding
The teens will either learn to surf or go paddle boarding (depending on conditions).  Transportation provided to Dana Point Harbor.
$50 per participant

Pageant of the Masters
Show is at 8:30 p.m.

Enjoy Laguna Beach

The Pageant of the Masters is the Festival of Arts’ crowning jewel and arguably one of the most unique productions in the entire world. Prepare to be amazed and enchanted by ninety minutes of tableaux vivants (living pictures), incredibly faithful re­creations of classical and contemporary works of art, with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces.  An outdoor amphitheater, professional orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets, sophisticated lighting, expert staff and hundreds of dedicated volunteers have won recognition for the Pageant of the Masters as the best presentation of its kind.  See more . . .

The Club has a group of tickets (center/main tier) at $56 each.
No children under the age of 5

Before the show, spend the afternoon in Laguna Beach exploring the shops, artisans and a leisurely dinner. 

Tuesday, August 1st
AESC Tennis Tournament
1:30 - 4:00 p.m.
The Club's annual round robin tennis tournament has become a popular outing on the courts.  This year, we'll be playing at the Tennis Club at Monarch Beach, just three blocks from the hotel.
$30 per player, includes tennis balls, beverages.  Rental racquets are available.
Wednesday, August 2nd

Afternoon at the Beach

Show off your artistic skills during the AESC's Sand Castle and Sculpture event.  All the tools needed will be provided to create your own special sand castle with expert guidance from the team at Archisand.  The Club will provide beverages, and for the "sidewalk superintendents," we'll have umbrellas and chairs on hand.
$40 per person - age 12 and up;  $25 - age 8 - 11; Age 7 and under - free

If you don't have dinner plans, consider staying around for an informal light hamburger and hotdog cookout at the hotel.  (Included in your meeting registration fee.)

Thursday, August 3rd
AESC Golf Outing
First tee time - 7:00 a.m.
This year's AESC Golf Outing will take place at the Monarch Beach Golf Links, just around the corner from the Ritz-Carlton and with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean from the course.  Master golf architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr., has fashioned a one-of-a-kind golf course design – challenging and fair, with views of surf breaks on every hole.
$205 per player, includes cart with GPS, practice balls, water.

"Not Golf" Outings
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Adults - bocce ball

Families - paddle boarding

Non-golfers have two options for morning fun . . .

Mimosas, Bloody Mary's and Bocce Ball -- on the lawn at the Ritz.
$30 per person, adults only

Paddle boarding in Dana Point Harbor
$50 per person.  Note -- We are attempting to negotiate a discount for families with younger kids.  If successful, we'll give refunds to those who qualify.
