AESC Membership Information

 
Membership in the American Eye Study Club is by invitation.  Prospective members are nominated by at least two members, one of which must be an "Active" member.  

If you are planning to nominate a prospective member, please be sure to consult the bylaws of the Club to be familiar with the requirements for membership.

     This is a "fillable" PDF file that you can complete on your computer and then print out. 

• All nominations must include at least two letters of support
• One letter must be from a current Active member (who has attended at least two annual meetings)
• Each member may nominate or second only one new member annually
• In addition to the nominating form, the candidate's CV also must be submitted along with a letter from each of the two sponsors
• Optional, sponsors also may submit a headshot photo of the nominee.  This should be a JPEG or PNG files (NOT PDF or other electronic formats).  Be sure this is a standard portrait and not an informal photo, such as vacation or family pictures.

The "target" number for Active members is 60.  However, the absolute maximum of Active members is 64.  A maximum of eight nominations may be considered, except if the total of potential new members exceeds 60, then only six nominations may be considered with a "hard" limit of 64 Active members. For 2026, a maximum of six new members will new admitted. Please refer to the bylaws for the details about the nomination process and the number of Active members permitted.
