Housing Details at Kilkea Castle - Ireland
2024 AESC Annual Meeting

 Updated 5.25.2024

The American Eye Study Club welcomes you to County Kildare in Ireland and the Kilkea Castle and Golf Resort!

This year, housing will be handled differently from past meetings.  Since we are "buying out" the entire castle and all of the sleeping rooms, accommodations will be assigned internally.  The preferences and needs of each member will be provided on a housing request form, and then the Club administrative office (primarily Kathy Paul) will match those needs with the most appropriate accommodation.  Please review the details for accommodation choices and other important information below.

  • Meeting Dates:   Arrivals on Sunday, July 28; departures Friday, August 2, 2024
  • Club Housing Policies -- Please make note of these important procedures and policies.
  • Overview Schedule for the week (PDF file)
    • Note -- the last event of the conference is on Thursday evening with Friday departures.

    • Your room includes breakfast every day and the Irish VAT (tax).
    • Amount owed on your confirmation email is converted from Euros to US Dollars based on the exchange rate as of late May.

PLEASE NOTE . . . As is true for all groups who negotiate special discounted pricing for conference attendees, the American Eye Study Club has signed a contract with the Kilkea Castle.  Because of the special opportunities offered at the castle, we are buying out all of the accommodations, meaning AESC members and their families will be the only guests at the castle this week.  We anticipate being able to meet the expectations and needs of all members.  In the unlikely event that we "sell out," a waiting list will be established and "overflow" accommodations will be identified  By staying at Kilkea Castle, though, you help the Club to meet its obligations, plus you experience the camaraderie that is a significant part of being a member of the American Eye Study Club!
