About Coeur d'Alene

It was 1993 and Bill Quayle was president the last time the AESC members and families descended on Coeur d'Alene, and we are thrilled to bring the group back for another visit!   The Resort has designed details and amenities for the utmost comfort and enjoyment of guests. Upon inception, The Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort has been dedicated to providing elevated service. This philosophy was instilled by co-founders, Duane Hagadone and Jerry Jaeger and continues to be instilled at The Resort and it’s namesake city forward, propelling Coeur d’Alene to the upper echelons of world-class luxury destinations worldwide. The North Shore Resort opened in 1965, and the seven-story tower was completed in 1973. Just 10 years later, Hagadone Hospitality acquired the  structure, improving the building and dubbing it “The Coeur d’Alene: A Resort on the Lake.” A newly renovated Coeur d’Alene Resort was completed in May 1986. The addition of the “Lake Tower” sits at 18 stories tall, with a total of 338 guest rooms. Since then we have seen many changes, beginning in 2018 with a $25 million renovation and year after year The Resort continues to blend an atmosphere of sophistication and casual elegance, with a laid-back luxury approach to deliver what we proudly call Resort hospitality from humble roots.

Spouse Book Club

We are pleased to announce the selection for this year's Spouse Book Club is Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover.

#1 NEW YORK TIMES, WALL STREET JOURNAL, AND BOSTON GLOBE BESTSELLER • One of the most acclaimed books of our time: an unforgettable memoir about a young woman who, kept out of school, leaves her survivalist family and goes on to earn a PhD from Cambridge University.  Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University. Only then would she wonder if she’d traveled too far, if there was still a way home.

The book club will meet on Monday morning just after the family breakfast.
